This web page is designed for my Wisconsin History class. When it came to working and speaking out at Old World Wisconsin I thought that it was very interesting. Talking to the children and seeing how excited some of them were to learn and see this form of a museum.  When talking to the children I noticed that any chance you gave them to ask questions they would ask, even if the answer made no sense to the question. Also I noticed that doing the activity seemed to get better and better as the day went on. Because the children sometimes didn't want to get involved earlier in the day, but when it was closer to the end of the day talking and teaching the children got easier. Also I think I like it the best when there was just visitors that came in because they seemed to not want to know every little detail about the house but who the people were and why they came here. But I have to say that being at Old World Wisconsin was probably a final that I actually looked forward to. Because I like working with people and getting a grade for teaching little children how to make pie crust and what things they used back then, such as lard was pretty neat. It also makes your think about how everything is so much easier for us, because if we want something to eat we can pop it into the microwave, when in the time before and during the 1870’s you had to make it from scratch and everything wasn't instant.

Interpretation

“Getting people involved, different for all ages. Not just stating the facts and things but showing them the lifestyle, and how things are in the time, place or person you are interpreting.”
