The East Troy Equestrian Team is a high school level competitive team at East Troy High School. Riders in grades eight through twelve are accepted on the team. It is necessary to own or lease your own horse to compete on the team. There is one district meet and one state meet each year, and the team must place either first or second at the district meet to qualify for the state meet that year. Team placings are determined by totaling the points that individual team members have earned by placing in classes throughout the show. Classes include English, Western, and Saddle Seat Showmanship, English and Saddle Seat Equitation, Western Horsemanship, English, Western, and Saddle Seat Bareback, Reinsmanship, Hunter Hack, Trail, Discipline Rail, Reining, Pole Bending, Flag and Sand, Barrel Racing, Keyhole, and Two Person Relay. Meets, classes, judging, and the rulebook are managed by the Wisconsin Interscholastic Horsemanship Association (WIHA).
